Struggling to Achieve Your Goals?

Are you experiencing any of the following barriers in executing your strategy?

Lack of alignment across the organisation.
Are you concerned that your organisation is not aligned around a common vision and strategy leading to confusion, duplication of effort and missed opportunities?

Inability to track progress and measure results. Do you feel it is difficult to track progress against strategy and make adjustments?

Lack of resources. Do you know what resources you need? Do you feel that the resources you need to execute  strategy effectively, are lacking?

Culture of silos. Does a culture of silo working can make it difficult to share information and collaborate across the organisation?

Resistance to change. Change can often be difficult. Will employees resist new ways of working or new approaches?

Maturity of Capability. Does your organisation have the flexible, diverse capability it needs to succeed in the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environment that is the Anthropocene?

What Should You Do?

Align the organisation around your strategy. This means ensuring that everyone in the organisation understands the strategy and how their work contributes to its success. We advocate for Open Strategy as a sound approach to ideation and accountability.

Creating a culture of accountability. This means holding people accountable for their performance against the strategy and ensuring that there is support and development where needed

Making sure the strategy is realistic, achievable and articulates clear choices. Strategy should be based on a realistic assessment of the organisation's capabilities and resources. Strategy is also as much about deciding what not to do as it is about deciding what to do.

Communicate effectively.
Strategy should be communicated clearly and concisely to everyone in the organisation. There is no such thing as over communication. We believe that good communication accommodates different styles and ways of working, including meeting diverse needs.

Measure and track progress. Create a clear way to measure progress against the strategy and identify any areas where there are problems. This is where strategy interfaces with impact measurement and planning. We suggest implementing an end to end value realisation approach.

Making adjustments as needed. Your strategy should be flexible enough to allow for adjustments as needed including in the event of changes in the external environment.

How Do You Create the Conditions for Success?

Build a strong leadership team. The leadership team is responsible for setting the direction of the organisation and ensuring that  strategy is executed effectively. Our view is that the modern workplace calls for humble, vulnerable, servant leaders with high EQ - these are capabilities that we can help you build and nurture.

Creating a culture of innovation. The organisation must be open to new ideas and willing to experiment with new ways of working. This is to a large extent a function of the leadership style including creating a culture that rewards experimentation. We can help you create your culture of innovation.

Empowering employees. Employees should be given the autonomy, authority and resources they need to be successful in executing strategy - but held to account for results. Ask us how to create a route to empowered and accountable teams.
